Description

Student Maker Faire is a celebration of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. It’s a place to show what we’ve made and to share what we’ve learned with others — a great match for any educational community.  Student Maker Faire inspires, educates, and entertains curious and creative learners of all ages. It celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, food, green design, music, science and technology and brings together communities who embrace the DIY (do-it-yourself) spirit.

Impact Areas

·                  Inspiration : to participate in the creative economy and direct their own future

·                  Innovation : a catalyst for grassroots invention

·                  Education : building a connection between the community and learners

·                  Engage in hands-on workshops and activities, resulting in a project to take home

·                  Meet, interact, and converse with individual Makers, who are sharing their unique passions

·                  Give your students ownership and voice of their learning

·                  Become exposed to, and feel welcomed and supported in, the Maker community

·                  Connect with larger creativity, innovation, STEM, or art initiatives

The Student Maker Faire is available for upper elementary and middle school students.  This event is being hosted at Hot Shops in Downtown Omaha (1301 Nicholas Street), where creativity turns to action.
