Description | | Flyer
Implementing MTSS at the secondary level requires thoughtful and strategic planning. Several key areas need to be addressed prior to implementation including developing a common language, common understanding, protocols/procedures, student identification systems, the master schedule, teaching resources, progress monitoring tools, goals/outcomes, ongoing professional development/learning and reporting and data systems.
In our time together we will begin to develop our common language and common understanding about the multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) and its six critical components, with specific secondary examples. We will explore these areas through a self-assessment of MTSS.
Participants will walk away with:
-
An understanding of strategies and approaches to build consensus and develop a common language
-
Strategies to approach the master scheduling that is student centered
-
Approaches to progress monitor effectiveness of programming
-
Consideration of ways to build the capacity of school-based leadership teams to monitor the health and wellness of the school
