Audience:  Counselors, Psychologists, Parents, Educators, Individuals on the Spectrum, Community Providers, Transition Specialists, anyone wishing to provide evidence-based social skills training.

Description:  This workshop is designed to provide an overview of the PEERS for Young Adults: Social Skills Training for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Social Challenges. The presentation will include an overview of the PEERS curriculum, along with information regarding the
administration and implementation of the Young Adult/Adult Social Skills lessons. The PEERS curriculum provides an evidence-based social skills treatment for young adults with ASD, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and other social difficulties, and has an emphasis on friendships and relationships.

Some of the topics that are included in the manual and will be addressed in the training include:
 -How to appropriately use electronic forms of communication
 -How to appropriately use humor and assess humor feedback
 -How to handle arguments and disagreements with friends and in relationships
 -How to handle rejection, teasing, bullying, and rumors/gossip
