How will I know if a workshop is cancelled due to weather?
Listen to your local TV stations, check the ESU #3 web page (www.esu3.org) or call 597-4800 for a recorded message.
Can I be billed for a workshop fee or pay with a credit card?
Individuals cannot be billed for workshops and we are unable to process credit cards.
How are payments made for workshops?
Districts are billed for associated staff.
Can I cancel a registration for a workshop?
Cancellations will be accepted up to three business days before the workshop begins. Cancellations not received three business days in advance and "No-Shows" will be billed.
Can I participate if I am not affiliated with an ESU #3 school?
Registration is opened to the public. However, non-ESU #3 schools will be notified no later than three business days prior to the date of the workshop if there is no space available.

Description | | Instructional Strategies for Functional Programming for Students with Autism and Complex Needs
Audience: This workshop is for Resource Teachers, SLPs, Counselors, Psychologists, Teachers/Staff, Parents of students with autism or anyone supporting students with autism and complex needs.
Description: In this workshop, participants will briefly examine functional curricula and learn the importance of functional skills in their programming. We will look at a variety of instructional strategies to teach functional programming including errorless teaching using discrete trials and verbal behavior both in the classroom and in the natural environment. Then we will look at strategies to generalize skills in the natural environment including individual natural environment lesson plans, small group lesson plans, verbal modules, working walks, structured teach activities and using books and magazines. This is a hands-on workshop with lots of opportunities to practice the strategies with partners or in a small group.
