Description

With so many competing demands on an administrator’s time, energy, and focus, where should we put our emphasis?

The research is clear that teacher quality is the #1 determinant of student success, so let’s prioritize the strategies that help build teacher capacity. Using tools from The Principal Influence: A framework for building leadership capacity in principals – ASCD, 2016) and the newly-released Creating a Culture of Reflective Practice: Building capacity for schoolwide success – ASCD, 2017), award-winning principal and best-selling author Pete Hall will help instructional leaders adopt a high-impact structure for conducting walk-throughs, providing targeted feedback to teachers to focus on appropriate goals, build strong professional relationships, engage in productive coaching approaches, and positively affect school improvement. This interactive and practical session includes tools and opportunities to engage in rich feedback and coaching practices designed to strengthen instructional practice.

Participants will receive the book, Creating a Culture of Reflective Practice: Building Capacity for Schoolwide Success (ASCD, 2017).
