DescriptionPresented by: Christopher A. Kearney, Ph.D.

Christopher A. Kearney, Ph.D. is Distinguished Professor and Chair of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is also the Director of the UNLV Child School Refusal and Anxiety Disorders Clinic.

Participants will have an enhanced knowledge of:
(1) The characteristics of youth with school attendance problems and their families
(2) Assessment and evaluation strategies for this population
(3) Treatment approaches for problematic school absenteeism, emphasizing a multi-tier
approach that focuses on prevention, intervention for emerging or moderate cases,
and strategies for more chronic and severe cases.
