HAL COMPETITION
ESU #3 second annual Battle of the Books - 5th & 6th grade level competition offers a 20 book reading list which includes a challenging combination of classics, historical fiction, and books kids just shouldn’t miss reading at some point in their life. There are two 5th & 6th grade book lists that will rotate on even and odd years so that participants will have exposure to 40 great books during their 2 years of participation. After reading and practicing with HAL coordinators throughout the year, students will travel to ESU#3 in May to compete on a team made up of 4 individuals. Comprehension questions will be asked that require students to answer with the title of the book and the author’s name.
Battle of the Books is all about READING....reading lots of great books and having fun doing it!
