Pop Art Favorites

What are your favorite products? How are these marketed? We will talk about brands, labels and marketing. I will share works from favorite pop artists, Burton Morris in particular, and how they depicted very common brands in their artwork. Students will then find their favorite products in magazines and labels I’ll bring. They will choose an object or logo to paint using watercolor paints and watercolor pencils. We will use a sharpie to add details to sharpen the piece. Through this workshop, students will learn the process of creating a project beginning with the inspiration through idea development, project creation, completion and critique. By Julie Fjell
