Description | | PEAK Relational Training System: Program Planning Training Series
Flyer
PEAK is an evidence based evaluation and curriculum guide for teaching basic and advanced language skills. PEAK contains four separate learning modules to address four individual dimensions of language. PEAK places a heavy emphasis on generalization of skills and higher order language and cognitive abilities.
Day 1 (Regional Host Sites): Participants will review the four PEAK modules and assessment process using the PCA. They will identify one target student to administer the PCA prior to the second session.
Day 2 (Regional Host Sites): Participants will review scoring each of the modules of PEAK. They will learn or
refresh their skills in data collection and running trials within all four modules of the PEAK
program. If time allows participants will also build programming for their focus student.
Day 3 (Virtual): Participants will touch base on their PEAK programs and review evidence based teaching practices to incorporate during direct instruction sessions.
Utilizing the individualized intensive supports covered in this training could be a NeMTSS Tier 3
intervention. For more information on NeMTSS visit https://nemtss.unl.edu/about/.
NOTE: This training does not replace the Level 1 PEAK Certification from Emergent Learning. This workshop is intended to support those already using or interested in learning more about how PEAK can help guide common next steps such as updating the PCA (PEAK Assessment), ensuring programs are updated, reviewing the importance of each module, and having time to practice delivery and scoring in each module. For more information on PEAK, please visit https://www.peak2aba.com/about.
