DescriptionPresenter:  Stacey Martin from Summit Behavioral Services: Kansas City, MO and based on content from the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistant Network (PaTTAN).


Audience:  We recommend that you attend the training with another team member, if possible, who work with students with autism or developmental disabilities (special education teachers, SLP’s, administrators, para educators and other professionals working with students with autism).
*All participants must have completed the Three Day Verbal Behavior Training and MUST be consistently using Verbal Behavior teaching protocols with children who are READY for these higher level verbal skills.

Description:   Participants of this training will learn the critical importance of ensuring learners have a broad tact repertoire and the role it plays in acquiring verbal skills including intraverbals and answering yes/no questions, as well as the application of joint control. Participants will learn procedures for using autoclitics to teach students to engage in question discrimination. Protocols covered will include: tacts of actions, parts and features of objects, prepositions, 2 component listener responses, and tacts for adjectives. Information will also be shared regarding data collection and error correction procedures.  Utilizing the individualized intensive supports covered in this training could be a NeMTSS Tier 3 intervention.  For more information on NeMTSS visit

Training activities will include:
-Choral responding, written pre/post-tests, the use of guided notes and competency checks on teaching procedures.
-All attendees should come prepared to participate in all training activities.
