Audience: Special Education Teachers, Related Service Providers, and Special Education Administrators
Description: The Special Education Community of Practice (COP) brings together educators from districts of all sizes to collaborate, share expertise, and strengthen support for students with disabilities. This network focuses on practical problem-solving, improving IEP compliance, promoting inclusive practices, and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies. Participants engage in meaningful dialogue around common challenges and innovative solutions, regardless of district size or resources.
Outcomes:
-Gain a clear understanding of what High Leverage Practices are and how they support evidence-based instruction.
-Utilize a protocol and guiding questions to understand the importance of IEP compliance in ensuring appropriate services and support for students with disabilities.
-Engage in reflective problem-solving conversations to identify and address common problems of practice as special educators.
-Expand our professional network and engage in peer-to-peer exchanges, sharing best practices and experiences related to the provision of special education services.
