Description | | Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself! How to respond to unwanted behavior by using neutralizing routines for vulnerable decision points.
Target audience: Anyone supporting students in distress including classroom teachers, administrators, special education staff, behavior and counseling professionals, and other school personnel supporting students who are dysregulated.
Participants will:
1. Understand the "why" of dysregulated behavior, including the impact of trauma on behaviors in the classroom.
2. Identify evidence-based responses to unwanted behavior in the classroom.
3. Recognize how vulnerable decision points impact adult responses and could cause them to act outside of their values.
4. Learn neutralizing routines to better support students in distress. |
