THERAPEUTIC CRISIS INTERVENTION (TCI)
The goal is for educational staff to be proactive in establishing their environment and interventions while helping young people develop responses to their environment that will enable them to achieve a higher level of social and emotional competency.
The first 3 days of training is centered on discussing prevention and intervention strategies while the fourth day will focus on the physical interventions, review and testing individuals on intervention strategies and physical training competency.
* Individuals trained in the physical component will be required to re-certify annually in order to maintain compliance with Cornell University Child and Family Development Center.
* ESU#3 is not responsible for any liability brought about as a result of staff using these interventions and will require each school districts participant to a release statement.
The TCI training curriculum was developed at Cornell University Child Family Development Center in Ithaca, New York. TCI is geared toward staff utilizing intervention strategies that are proactive when working with children.
