Description
This workshop, presented by David and Yvonne Freeman, will help registrants learn strategies to enhance their teaching of ELL content.  Examples of academic language at text, paragraph, sentence, and word levels will be discussed, as well as a 3-step approach to helping English learners develop academic language.  David and Yvonne will also share teacher stories and visuals of classrooms to demonstrate how teachers can use specific strategies and organize materials to develop both academic language and content knowledge.

David and Yvonne have 25 years of experience helping teachers improve their instruction for emergent bilingual students and were honored with the 2013 Outstanding Educators in the English Language Arts Award.

A light breakfast and lunch will be served.
