Description

Did you know that your brain is like a fingerprint, or a snowflake? No two brains are alike! In this workshop we will take a guided tour through the brain. Each area of the cerebrum specializes in a function – whether it is one of the senses, short term or long term memory, or language and reasoning abilities, all vital for learning.

An examination of each of the lobes of the brain will teach about their purpose. Students will explore using demonstration "hands on" activities to learn the function of the lobes. Learning about how the brain perceives color, how the brain reacts to confusing stimuli, and how it changes with experience will strength understanding. Ways to “trick’ the brain and to challenge the brain, are all part of understanding our own brain.

Lunch provided.

Teachers are active participants and should be part of the day's events including supervision and participation. Sponsoring teachers will need a printed list of all student names present and turned in at check in.
