Description

“A good book should leave you... slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading it.” ~William Styron

NEW this year, ESU#3 is offering HAL students the opportunity to compete in an area-wide reading competition designed to challenge great readers for 3 consecutive years. This first year, 4th grade level competition offers a 15 book reading list which includes a fun combination of 2017-18 Golden Sower books and books about Nebraska. After reading and practicing with HAL coordinators throughout the year, students will travel to ESU#3 in March to compete on a team made up of 3 individuals. Comprehension questions will be asked that require students to answer with the title of the book and the author’s name.

Battle of the Books is all about READING....reading lots of great books and having fun doing it!

(See participant guidelines for all competition details and the attached 4th grade booklist to get started!)

Competition Date: Tuesday, May 8, 2018

NOTE: Participating schools will purchase their own books for competition preparation.
