PRACTICE QUESTIONS

  • Experience “Oppression, Resistance, Perseverance, Flight, Relocation, and Hope through a young person’s eyes!”

 

Here’s what signing up for the ESU#3 Global competition will get you:

  • A printable Global Battle of the Books booklist with books thoughtfully placed into 4 reading sections of 6 books each designed to expose readers to historical events from 4 different continents - Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America - and told from the perspective of young main characters experiencing some form of oppression and reacting to it.
  • Access to pdf documents containing 25 - 30 plus questions per book already written in the competition’s “In What Book” format that can be used for your practice sessions.
  • Randomly-sorted challenging questions ready for Competition Day written in “In What Book” format providing the book title and author’s name after each question. There are 9 rounds of 60 questions each provided including additional “tie breaker” questions.
  • PDF documents outlining Battle of the Books competition rules, procedures, facilitation, and implementation tips to help you prepare for competition day and make it a great success!

Cost is $20 per team with 4 students per team. Schools may register as many teams as they like.
