Description | | Principals: Essential Partners in Special Education
Purpose:
Building principals are key personnel in cultivating a successful setting for our special education students and the staff who support them. Join principal colleagues from across the region in a collaborative learning opportunity aimed at preparing you to handle difficult special education and legal situations, increasing your knowledge of special education and assisting you to better support your special education staff and students.
Topics Will Include:
-Avoiding litigation
-Navigating emergency behaviors and school discipline
-Participating meaningfully in IEPs
-Ensuring your SpEd staff feel supported
-Promoting an inclusive environment
-Providing effective feedback and evaluation of SpEd staff
-Understanding LRE, MTSS, and other Special Education lingo
