DescriptionVirtual “Live” Social Skills in the Inclusive Classroom:  Using Peer Mediated Strategies for Young Children with Autism
(Focus on Ages 3-8 Years Old)

Presenter:  Teri McGill, Metro Region ASD Network Coordinator

Audience:  Early childhood teachers, special education and general education teachers, parents, Administrators, and other professionals working with young children with Autism in an inclusive setting. (Ages 3 to 8 Years Old)

Description 
Participants will learn:
-Value of using peer mediated strategies to teach social skills to young children
-Key social skills that impacts the development of friendships
-How to use whole group direct instruction to teach social skills
-How to use direct instruction of peer models to enhance social skills instruction
-How to embed social skills throughout the daily routine including recess
