Presenter: Sue Presler

Many schools are moving toward professional development where teachers share with teachers their successes and their challenges with a new innovation.  They are expecting teachers to have the leadership skills needed to do this work.  Teaching and facilitating adults is not the same as teaching and facilitating students. This 1 day session will teach participants the essence of andragogy (the study of teaching adults), the difference between presenting and facilitating, knowing yourself and your audience, discreet presenter skills, dealing with presenter challenges and overcoming nervousness.

Participants will...

·         Have a surface understanding of adult learning theory

·         Have an understanding of the difference between facilitation and presentation

·         Know how to put together a presentation with opening, middle and closing.

·         Understand what to do with challenges they might face with difficult participants
