This workshop is designed to support educators who currently co-teach or who are looking to develop a co-teaching environment in their classrooms. The primary focus is working with EL students but the practices of the co-teaching environment are very suitable for special education instruction as well. Participants are encouraged to attend in teams of general educator and specialist.
What do co-teachers need to know prior to teaching together? How do teachers collaborate to better meet the needs of all students? The Co-teaching and Collaboration Workshop was developed by a content teacher and an EL teacher with over 20 years of combined co-teaching and collaboration experience. This workshop equips educators with tools for creating successful collaborative relationships to promote higher learning for EL, SpEd, and mainstream students. Participants will incorporate co-teaching models, gain planning strategies, & walk away ready to sidestep common roadblocks.
Our presenters, Erin Griffin Boyle and Jackie Christensen are from A Word With Us. A Word With Us was founded by EL and Content teachers and all training is based on experiences from classroom implementation. Practical and worthwhile ideas are the focus of the training. |
